Getting Ready for Blog Action Day 2008
Written by admin on October 6, 2008 – 3:15 pm -
Its almost time for the second annual Blog Action Day. Every year, the nonprofit organization picks a topic of concern and encourages writers and bloggers to bring attention to this cause, to discuss the issues, and to encourage donations towards charity’s. This years topic is poverty, quite a broad topic indeed. CreatingDrew.com will be getting involved this year and would love your input on how we should go about doing so.
Who’s in?
At the time of writing this article, there are currently 5,360 sites and about 8,500,000 readers that are expected to participate. These blogs range from every topic imagineable and its great to see everyonce coming together for this benefit.
Get Involved!
If you have a website or blog, I encourage you to become involved. Let your readers know about blog action day and where they can donate or how they can help. In addition, you can get a neat badge or banner for your website to help bring more attention to BlogActionDay 08. You can register your website or blog here.
Our focus on Blog Action Day
What content or posts appear on blog action day is up to the webmaster. PSDTuts recently had a cool contest to see who could create the best poverty buttons to raise awareness for poverty. At CreatingDrew.com, I think we will keep it short, and give a list of the top 10 places we would like readers to donate to, and of course make a donation ourselves. I might consider running a contest or focusing on how poverty affects people in a certain region in the world.
What are your thoughts? Do you have any ideas for blog action day? Will you be participating? Keep an eye out for our post on October 15th, you may subscribe to our feed to make sure you dont miss it.
